Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 October 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how News Lineup (“News Lineup”, “we”, “us”), published by 24World Media of 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit newslineups.com, use our contact and newsletter features, or otherwise interact with us. By using the site you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not provide personal information through the site.

1. Who is responsible

24World Media is the publisher responsible for this website. Newsroom desks operate the daily lineup, but legal responsibility for data handling rests with the publisher. Questions about this Policy or a privacy request should be sent through our Contact page or to [email protected], or by post to the address above. Please mark the message “Privacy” so it reaches the correct handler promptly.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you submit the contact form, send a news tip, request a correction, enquire about advertising or licensing, subscribe to a newsletter where offered, or correspond with us, we collect the name, email address, organisation (if given), message content and any documents or links you choose to send. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers or other highly sensitive credentials through general forms; we do not need them to handle a newsroom enquiry.

Information collected automatically. When you visit, our servers and authorised service providers may collect device and usage information such as internet protocol address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited, time spent, clicks and coarse location derived from IP address. Cookies and similar technologies may be used as described in Section 6. We collect only what is reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the site and to understand readership in aggregate.

Information from third parties. If you arrive from a search engine, social platform or partner link, that service may share referral information under its own policy. Embedded third-party content (for example, official video embeds) is provided by the third party and may collect information when you interact with it, governed by that provider’s policy.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to: operate and secure the website; respond to messages, tips, corrections, advertising and licensing enquiries; send newsletters or updates you requested; understand which sections and stories serve readers so we can improve the lineup; prevent spam, abuse and fraud; comply with legal obligations; and protect the rights, safety and property of readers, sources, staff and the public. We do not sell personal information. We do not use tip content or correction requests to build advertising profiles.

4. Legal bases and consent

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on: your consent (for example, newsletter subscription, which you may withdraw at any time); performance of a request you make (responding to your enquiry); our legitimate interests in operating a secure, accurate news service, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing already lawfully performed. Marketing messages, if sent, will include a clear unsubscribe method.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed: with hosting, security, analytics, email-delivery and publishing service providers that process data on our instructions; with professional advisers where necessary; where required by law, court order or lawful request; to protect against harm or fraud; and, for licensed or partnership work, only the contact details necessary to perform the agreed service. Service providers are authorised to use information only for the services they provide to us. We do not sell personal information to data brokers and we do not share tip source identities outside the newsroom except where legally compelled after review, or with the source’s consent.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies for security, load balancing and core site functions; functional cookies to remember preferences you set; and, where enabled, analytics cookies to measure aggregate readership and performance. Advertising partners, where present, may use cookies subject to their own policies and any consent tools we provide. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may impair site function. Where a consent banner is presented, your choices are recorded and can be revisited through the method described on the site at that time.

7. News tips and source protection

We treat tip material with care. Access inside the newsroom is limited to editors who need it to assess the tip. We will not publish your identity as a confidential source merely because you contacted us. However, contacting us through ordinary web forms or email does not guarantee anonymity against every technical or legal risk; if confidentiality is essential, say so at the start of your message and provide a secure way to reply so senior editors can discuss handling before you send sensitive material. Never send material you are not authorised to share or that would put you or others at immediate risk.

8. Retention

We retain messages and related records only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected: to respond, to maintain an accurate corrections and licensing record, to defend legal claims and to meet accounting or legal duties. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe or the list is retired, plus a limited suppression record to honour your choice. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period proportionate to security needs. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where feasible.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, to obtain a copy in portable form, and to withdraw consent. United States state privacy laws may provide additional rights, including the right to know, delete and correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising; as stated above, we do not sell personal information. To exercise a right, contact us with enough detail to identify the information and verify your identity where necessary. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will explain any lawful reason we cannot fully comply. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, but we invite you to contact us first so we can address the concern.

10. Children

The site is directed to a general news audience and is not intended to collect personal information knowingly from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us and we will review and delete it where appropriate. School or guardian enquiries about a story should use the corrections and contact process.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a news website, including access controls, encrypted transport where supported and limited internal access. No website or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials you hold with us confidential and for using a secure connection when sending sensitive material. Please notify us promptly if you believe your interaction with us has been compromised.

12. International transfers

We are based in the United States and service providers may process information in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and limit transfers to what the service needs. By using the site from outside the United States, you understand information may be processed in the United States.

13. Third-party links and embeds

Stories link to primary documents, official sites and other publishers for attribution and reader verification. Those sites are not under our control and their privacy practices govern information you provide there. Embedded video and social content loads from the provider; interacting with it (play, like, share) is subject to that provider’s terms and policy. We encourage you to review the policies of services you use.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the site, services or law. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date acknowledges the updated Policy for new processing; where consent is the basis, we will seek it again where required. Prior versions can be requested through the Contact page.

15. Contact

Publisher: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067. Privacy enquiries: [email protected] or via the Contact page marked “Privacy”. Please do not include highly sensitive personal data in an initial enquiry; we will advise a safer way to provide anything further that is genuinely needed.

16. Analytics, advertising measurement and your choices in detail

Where analytics are enabled, we measure aggregate patterns — which sections are read, how stories perform through the day, which devices and browsers need support — rather than building individual behavioural profiles for sale. Advertising measurement, where advertising is present, counts delivery and viewability for the booked campaign and uses the identifiers described in Section 6. You may limit cookies in your browser, use private browsing, or write to us with a privacy request where a choice on the site does not address your concern. Limiting cookies will not prevent you from reading the news, although some preferences and security features may work less smoothly. We review our analytics and advertising providers periodically and remove tools that no longer serve a clear reader or operational purpose.

17. Data accuracy and account information

Where you hold a subscription or account feature with us, you are responsible for keeping the contact details you supplied accurate so that service messages and renewal or security notices reach you. You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal information as set out in Section 9. Newsletter preferences can be changed through the unsubscribe or preference method in each message; a request sent through the Contact page should identify the email address subscribed so we can locate the record without asking for unnecessary additional data.

18. If the business changes hands

If 24World Media reorganises, sells or transfers News Lineup or a substantial part of the business that operates it, personal information held for the purposes in this Policy may transfer to the successor so the service can continue without interruption, subject to applicable law and to the successor honouring this Policy or giving affected readers notice of any material change with the choices the law requires. We will post notice of a change of controller on this page with a revised effective date where the change is material to how information is handled.

We do not combine newsletter, tip or correction records with advertising identifiers to profile individual readers, and we instruct providers that handle measurement for us accordingly. If a future feature would materially expand the personal information we collect — for example, a registered-account service with saved preferences — this page will be updated with a new effective date and, where the law requires, a fresh choice presented before the feature collects the additional information.

To make a request without using the form — for example, where the form itself is the subject of your accessibility concern — write by post to the publisher at the address in Section 1 and mark the envelope “Privacy Request”. Postal requests are logged on receipt and answered through the return method you provide, subject to the same identity-verification and legal-review steps described above, and we will not require you to create an account or subscribe to any service in order to exercise a privacy right.
