BOSTON — Another week, another record-setting performance for Peabody junior Alex Jackson. Truth be told, Jackson was in a league of his own at Saturday’s MIAA Meet of Champions at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Already a winner in the shot put with a solid throw of 58-03, Jackson doubled up with a gold in the weight throw with yet another PR, 67-11. The heave broke three records – the Peabody High record, the meet record and the state record. Saturday marked the second time in the last week that Jackson set a meet record.

Koby Avery, Eli Batista, Abou Kaba and Doryln Morel finished 12th in the 4×200 relay (1:33.04). Evan Bedard set a PR (20-04) in the long jump and finished 14th, while Alessanda Forgione finished 15th in the girls weight throw (24-06).

The Marblehead Magicians made the medals block in two events with both relays featuring the same quartet of Ava Machado, Sadie Halpern, Charlotte Roszen and LaDaisha Williams. They took the bronze in the girls 4×200 (1:46.03) and also finished sixth in the 4×400 (4:11.02).

Nathaniel Assa also placed top-10 with a 10th place finish in the 2-mile in 9:42.02. Alex Hersey finished 15th in the long jump (20-01.50) and also finished 15th in the 55-hurdles preliminaries (7.97), while Thomas Carlson finished 11th in the 55-meter dash preliminaries (6.62).

Daniel Padley was St. John’s Prep’s top finisher, placing third in the 1,000 in 2:32.60. Ahmir Hykel, Andrew Vigneaux, Charlie Angell and Brendan Burke finished fifth in the 4×200 relay in 1:31.84. Nick MacDonald finished ninth in the 600 in 1:24.16 and Andrew Bertucci placed 10th in the high jump with a leap of 6-02.

As for St. Mary’s, Lory Suriel (shot put) and Thomas Hooks (high jump) represented Lynn well. Each ranked top-24 in their respective events.
